Stratford’s new comprehensive zoning bylaw includes new provisions for the operation of short-term-rental accommodations as well as provisions for new land-use zones like the theatre-district zone and the Grand Trunk anchor district zone.
The new zoning bylaw includes provisions for the operation of short-term rental accommodations in the city, which will give residents the opportunity to rent out their entire homes for a maximum of 28 days consecutively and no more than 180 days annually, as long as they are the principal occupant.
As part of the motion to approve the new zoning bylaw, councillors also directed staff to prepare a licensing bylaw for short-term rental accommodations.
Changes were also made to city provisions for parking, home occupations, group homes and drive-thru services, such as restaurants.
