Haldimand council has voted down a bylaw that would control noise, traffic, parking, waste, and unruly behaviour at short-term rentals.
Staff presented a report on May 2 recommending against any action, as the county has received only eight complaints in the last three years.
County staff had looked into a range of bylaw options from a complete ban on short-term rentals to enhancing enforcement and even a full licensing program, but staff felt the enforcement tools at hand were enough given the registered number of complaints.
Staff will continue to monitor and report to council by Dec. 31.
